Qvadis has been honored with the first Innovative Technology Achievement Award
by the Digital Literature Institute, organizer of the 2002 Independent e-Book Awards.
Winners were announced during the inaugural Digital Literature Festival
recently held in Santa Barbara, California.
Judges included Martin Eberhard, former CEO and co-founder of NuvoMedia,
creators of the revolutionary Rocket eBook, and other industry luminaries.
Qvadis was recognized for Innovative Technology Achievement,
an award presented for the development of software, hardware or technical information
that benefits the field of digital literature. Finalists in the category
included E-Ink, developers of electronic paper technology,
and OverDrive, developers of ReaderWorks publishing tools for Microsoft Reader.
"We are proud to have been selected for this award," said Sam Peralta, CEO of Qvadis.
"But mostly we are honored to be in the company of these industry pioneers."
Recognized as "the Sundance of e-book awards",
the Independent e-Book Awards were founded to recognize
the year's outstanding works in the digital publishing industry;
Achievement Awards were introduced this year to recognize body of work
and commitment to the field of digital literature.

and publishing system for Palm powered handhelds,
which has won numerous Editor's Choice awards in industry
