Qvadis has been shortlisted for the Innovative Technology Achievement Award
by the Digital Literature Institute, organizer of the 2002 Independent e-Book Awards.
Recognized as "the Sundance of e-book awards", the Awards were founded
to recognize the year's outstanding e-books in fiction and non-fiction.
Achievement Awards were introduced this year to recognize body of work
and commitment to the field of digital literature.
Qvadis' nomination is for Innovative Technology Achievement,
presented for the development of software, hardware or technical information
that benefits the field of digital literature.
Qvadis is best known for its popular, award-winning Express Reader ebook viewer for
Palm powered handhelds, which has won numerous Editor's Choice awards in industry
magazines and on the Web. Recently, Qvadis introduced Lexica,
a powerful reference viewer, dictionary and multilingual translator for
the Palm OS platform.
In addition, Qvadis also offers an extensive ebook library and bookstore
with over 10,000 available titles, and its recently-acquired Editio-Books subsidiary
publishes original content for handheld devices.
Final award winners will be announced at a special ceremony on
November 2, 2002 as part of the Digital Literature Festival in Santa Barbara, California.
